Biografie

Hillbilly Hellcats were formed in Denver, 1993 by guitarist Chuck Hughes and bassist Lance Bakemeyer, who had previously played together in Chucky and the Cyclones, a Rockabilly cover band. The decision was made to write and play only original songs. Along with winning the reader's poll in Westword Magazine, 1995-2000 in the Roots music category, the band embarked on self-booked tours to the 4 corners of the U.S. and eventually, Alaska and Hawaii. As of 2018, the band has toured 40 states and 16 countries, including, most recently, Australia and New Zealand. Starting in 2001 the band started sync licensing their songs to TV and film, where they have had 4300 Tunesat.com detections since 2011.
